The Techiman municipality recorded 80,874 malaria cases in 2016 and reduced to 70, 270 in 2017. The malaria cases saw an increased again in 2018 to 78,103.
Averagely, 38 per cent of malaria cases been recorded in the Techiman municipality were children below 5 years.
For over ten years, malaria cases have been the first among the top ten diseases in the Techiman municipality.
The Techiman municipal health director, Mrs Florence Iddrisah says, the Techiman municipal health directorate and the assembly have teamed up with churches to engage in vigorous clean up exercises to eradicate filth.
In one of such occasions, thousands of Techiman central Pentecost church engaged in a three hour cleanup exercise in Techiman.
Pastor Eric Opoku, the area coordinator of the Techiman Pentecost church, says, there is the need for all to support in the clean up exercise since the government alone cannot get rid of filth in the country.
The Techiman municipal chief executive, hon. John Donyina said, he had cleared most of the piled refuse dumps in the municipality.
