Kintampo Divisional Police Arrest 11 Suspects Involved in 200 Missing Cattle

The Kintampo divisional police in the Bono east region have arrested 11 suspects for allegedly involved in 200 missing cattle.

The 11 suspects are now been held at Kintampo police cells for stealing 59 cattle in different pens within the Kintampo municipal.

According to the police, some of the cattle were been stolen at the bush and transported. The police said, many of the cattle were also been killed at the bush and distributed the beef to boost their businesses.

Among the 11 suspects been arrested includes, one professional first degree trained teacher, named Harruna Amidu. The police are arranging the 11 suspects before the law court within the shortest possible time.

From December, 2018 to date, the Kintampo police have recorded over 400 stolen cattle, 200 of them have been retrieved through the police efforts.

The Kintampo divisional police commander, ASP Joseph Gawu said, they recorded 460 crimes in 2018. In the first quarter of the same 2018 they recorded 225 cases and had reduced to 134 in cases in 2019 first quarter.

ASP Joseph Gawu said, the drastically decrease in numbers of crime cases in the municipality is due to their dedication and hard working spirit.

The Kintampo police including their commander, ASP Joseph Gawu on daily bases go on patrols, they pay regular visit to slaughter houses to inspect papers and other documents of the slaughtered animals.
