Intensive Training Begins To Select Qualified Applicants To Benefit NEIP Programme

The second successive national NEIP programme to select qualified applicants for 2019 has started nationwide.

The Total of 12,000 qualified applicants nationwide are currently attending a one week training session in all the 16 regions of Ghana to benefit from the NEIP programme.

102 qualified applicants are currently attending a one week training session on entrepreneurship at Techiman VVU campus.

The national entrepreneurship and innovation programme NEIP was been launched on 13th July, 2017 by president Nana Akufo Addo to boost start up businesses.

In 2018, the ministry of finance allocated a total of GH 52,260.00 to support 7,000 applicant trained and 1,350 business applicants that qualified to expand their businesses.

In 2018, the Valley View University campus hosted the then Brong Ahafo region the NEIP programme. The VVU campus has again hosted the programme in 2019. In the Bono east region, 102 are currently having their training session.

The two of the facilitators’ Nkyeremu News team spoke to are all senior lecturers of VVU.

The director of the NEIP for the Bono east, Erick Atakora Takyi said the programme is aimed at providing refresher training to people who had already established their own businesses and the fresh ones going into businesses.

Pastor Alexander Agyapong is also one of the senior facilitators of the NEIP.

One of the applicants, Osuman Ibrahim says the NEIP programme is very positive to boost businesses.
