The university of energy and natural resources of Sunyani in the Bono region has become the first university in the Africa subregion to install Constellation Observation Satellite for Meteorology ionosphere and Climate (COSMIC).
Apart from weather forecasting, the Satellite can signal any fire outbreak in the entire Africa subregion for an immediate solution.
UENR is among the top nine schools of sciences in the world hosting such Satellite on their campuses.
The VC of the school, Prof Harrison Kwame Dapaah said this when marking the fourth congregation of the school.
The Satellite has compelled most universities schools of sciences to affiliates UENR. There are several students of other countries doing their exchange program at UENR campus.
To maintain and improve upon the standard of the school, the vice-chancellor of the university of energy and natural resources, Professor Harrison Kwame Dapaah has pleaded with the president Nana Akufo Addo to address their infrastructure challenges.
UENR been commenced in 2012 with 154 students has now 6,556.
In 2019, August graduation ceremony, 1,113 were been graduated.
