The director of the Banda Ahenkro Yankey Farms City, retired Helena Awurusa has pleaded with the government to take keen interest in the purchasing of the farm produce to ginger more people to go into the farming industry.
The former Coordinator For Gender Programme, Helena Awurusa who is US-based resident said she would deploy the typical America farming practices to the Banda Yankey Farms City to create job opportunities for the people.
From 2018 to date, she has cleared 80 acres of farming land for the cultivation of yams, beans, cassava palm trees, and notably cashew.
Her ambition is to turn Yankey Farms City, a mixed farming is most likely since she is already into cattle production.
Her major challenges are bad roads network and waste of farm produce in the Banda district.
Rtd Helina Awurusa said the concept of planting for food is a good idea but it would be useless when farm produces go waste.
