National Health Insurance Scheme Looks Dead

The current situation of the national health insurance scheme now looks completely dead. About 95% of the drugs being prescribed have to be purchased by the poor NHIS active member.

What is free for the NHIS patient is the consultation fee and issue of ID cards.

The few drugs being issued for free are below 10 Ghana cedis.
Patients are compelled to buy all the expensive prescribed drugs from pharmaceutical shops.

Research indicates, the poor these days go to the hospital on the verge of the dying point.

The NHIS need immediate diagnose for treatment, any further delay will see our proud NHIS being covered in white cloth at the morgue for burial, Na Asem ASA.

Due to victimization, people in authority failed to talk but this is the reality.

Nkyeremu News is always factual.
