The 2020 national best tree crop farmer, Seth Agyei Fosu of Tuobodom in the Techiman North District of the Bono East region says several farmers have regretted their engagement in cashew farming.
He said the fluctuations of the cashew selling prices which are been determined by foreigners has killed the interest of the cashew farmers.
He said the people who do the daily pickings of the cashew make money but not the farmers.
He said in February this year, one kilo was selling at 7cedis and has now dropped to 3 Ghana cedis.
Seth Agyei Fosu said their hopes are been shattered.
Seth Agyei Fosu has 200 acres of cashew and 100 acres of mango farm. He also real cattle and sheep in his village called Aniantentem in the Kintampo South District.
He said the unstabilized prices of the cashew is now a big blow for those been engaged in the production.
