Ghana Cocoa Price Increased By 5.8 Percent.

The Ghana Cocoa board has increased a tonne of cocoa from 7,600 Ghana cedis to 8,000 at this cocoa season.

This 5 percent increased of cocoa proce will take effect from October, 2020.

Previously, Ghana Cocoa board was buying a tonne at 7,600 cedis.

The government believes the new price of cocoa will help to hit 900,000 tonne this season.

Some few farmers who spoke to Nkyeremu News were not happy with the 5.8 percent increased.

The farmers say they spend so much to produce good yield and therefore see this as a peanut when compared the new cocoa price to the market commodities.

For your simple calculation, 16 bags of cocoa will give you one tonne. One bag of cocoa is 64 kilos.
