Guakro Effah SHS In Dire Need Of Boarding Facility

 

The authorities of Guakro Effah SHS in the Techiman north of the Bono East region are calling on the government to change the school from day to boarding status.

The school been founded in 1990 with the enrolment of 5 girls and 10 boys can now boast of 555 with 48 teachers and 15 non-teaching staff.

The headmaster of the school, Lawyer Alhaji Amadu Bermah Suleman says the numerous challenges of the school can only be addressed through the establishment of the boarding facility.

He said, the Guakro Effah SHS enrolment could hit over 800 coming this academic year when the school is being transformed into boarding.

The headmaster, Lawyer Alhaji Suleman speaking with Nkyeremu News team said, the school has 28 classrooms and other structures that can start with the boarding status to help more students who come from far and near to enroll in the next academic year.

Currently, the school has been provided with a modern dining hall complex which has reached 40 complete.

The school has again been blessed with GETFUD 400 beds girls dormitory block which is at the foundation level. Nkyeremu News noticed work was still in progress.

The headmaster, Alhaji Suleman is optimistic that, all is set for the school to gain boarding status.
