Some parts of Sunyani west municipality in the Bono region have been cut off from their normal activities as a result of recent flood that washed away all major bridges along the Tainso, Abisu, Baamu and Ade3krom road which also linked Odumase the district capital and other towns.
A resident who disclosed to our news team says the heavy rainfall that lasted over 4 hours attributed to this mess and made it impossible for vehicles to travel to the other communities thereby halting commercial activities in the area.
According to some residents of the affected communities, in the past two weeks, most of the schools in the area have been closed since the teachers are unable to cross the flooded river.
Another resident Annaba Alexander who was also affected blamed the contractor for poor work done. He says most of their farm produce had already gone waste.
According to him, all the road projects works in the area halted after the 2020 December 7 general elections.
He hinted that the bridge was not constructed to the required specifications hence the disaster.
The residents are appealing to the government to fix the bridge within the shortest possible time to make the road motorable.
