It is sad Ghana imports common tomatoes, onions, pepper, and maize from the neighboring counties while Ghana is blessed with the best lands for the cultivation of both cash and food crops. Ghana is blessed with two farming seasons, yet, we can’t utilize them.
Burkina Faso where Ghana imports most of these vegetables has only one farming season for cultivation. Millions of cedis spent on the construction of dams in the northern part of Ghana are now a pale shadow.
It will surprise you to see China hybridizing, mango plants to produce tomatoes, and the vegetable plant also producing bananas. Is it not amazing?
In Ghana, our leader uses their mouth to create jobs, while the Agric minister buys foodstuff to sell at the ministry, what a concert! Surprisingly, he couldn’t do this for just one month. Our politician use their mouths to create factories in all districts yet, we can’t see them with our naked eyes.
People who only propagate singing beautiful songs on the airwaves without production will never stop borrowing and seeking debt relief. You can lie, but you can’t hide your natural identity. Learn from Burkina Faso, which cultivates food crops at all times in the desert.
