The people of the Bono region have witnessed a historic burial and funeral celebration of the late Obaapanin, Hanna Akua Kyerema of Chiraa. The funeral celebration which was described as a feast festival is one of its kind in the Bono region. The CEO of Ghana Nuts limited, Dr. Obed Asante is behind this colourful celebration.<\/p>\n

The late mother, Obaapanin Nyame Nnae died at 87 and left behind, 6 successful children and 27 grandchildren. Hanna Akua Kyeremaa well known as Nyame Nnae was an all-around petty trader. She toiled both days and nights to bring up her children. It is not strange, therefore Nyame Nnae had a befitting burial and funeral celebration.<\/p>\n

Late Nyame Nnae was celebrated like a queen, as chiefs and queens were being carried in their palanquins to the funeral grounds. The legendary, Oheneba Kusi, the funeral celebration song hit maker, Nana Tabi, Obaapa Christ and Kete Groups came to grace the occasion differently.<\/p>\n

The vice president of the fourth republic, Dr. Bawumia was represented by the Bono regional minister, hon Owusu Banahene, the Bono east regional minister hon Adu Gyan and the general secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah among other dignitaries came in their number.<\/p>\n

What is more significant was when the body of the late Nyame Nnae was landed by helicopter at the Chiraa SDA school part. Many of the people said it was their first time seeing live air transport.<\/p>\n
