Every Ghanaian will highly welcome the scrap of ex-gratia, which contributes to the bribing of voters to win the election at all costs. Millions of cedis paid to the MPs, ministers, and some office holders as their ex-gratia in Ghana could have been utilized well for better things.<\/p>\n

The idea by former president, John Mahama to scrap ex-gratia has been the expectation of most Ghanaians for a long time. Reducing the state ministers to 60 will be the best, provided when he is voted to power he will go by his words.<\/p>\n

In fact, the salaries of the Ghana Cocoa Board and the SSNIT officials break hearts. There should be a big cut from their monthly earnings and fringe benefits. Scrapping of the ex-gratia will be a big move by the former president, John Dramani Mahama.<\/p>\n
