Billy Eichner (born September 18, 1978) is a comedian, actor, producer, and screenwriter from the United States. He is the star, executive producer, and creator of Funny Or Die\u2019s Billy on the Street, a truTV comedy game show. In 2013, Eichner was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host for the show. He is also known for his roles as Craig Middlebrooks on Parks and Recreation, Mr. Ambrose the Librarian on Bob\u2019s Burgers, and Timon in the 2019 remake of The Lion King.<\/p>\n

Eichner is a Queens native who grew up in Forest Hills, the son of Debbie, a phone company employee, and Jay Eichner, a rent tax auditor. He was born into a Jewish family and celebrated his bar mitzvah with a Madonna-themed party. Steve Eichner is his older half-brother. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1996 and Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Theater in 2000. His college roommate was actor Robin Lord Taylor. Eichner is Jewish as well as gay. He currently resides in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Eichner rose to prominence as the host and writer of the critically acclaimed New York stage show Creation Nation: A Live Talk Show. He landed a Bravo web series called My Life on the Z-List: Jen\u2019s Vlog and was a co-host on Joan Rivers\u2019 Straight Talk, a Bravo television pilot in which Rivers discussed topics with four gay men. He appeared as a special correspondent in original video shorts on Conan.<\/p>\n

It was created within the confines of Funny or Die and is now available on HBO Max and the TruTV app. In collaboration with Lyft, it had a final run of short-form episodes across digital platforms. In it, Eichner walks around New York City, asking random questions and making people compete in trivia games. He frequently has celebrities join him in games or walk around the streets with him.<\/p>\n
