Erling Haaland\u2019s rise to fame has been swift. The\u00a0footballer\u00a0was born in 2000 in Leeds, England to two Norwegian star athletes (Leeds United player Alfie Haaland and former women\u2019s heptathlon athlete Gry Marita Braut). The family moved to the couple\u2019s hometown of Bryne, Norway when Erling was three years old. Before Erling turned 21, he\u00a0reportedly already owned a property in Spain\u2014thanks to his father\u2019s decision to invest in the town of Malaga. Not much is known about this particular pad, but\u00a0Erling\u2019s agent, Mino Raiola, did reveal that his client owned the home around the same time that the soccer star reportedly told fans, \u201cI will play here in Spain\u201d while he was vacationing in Marbella with his family (in December 2021). The declaration made headlines around the world. Erling was on the brink of leaving Borussia Dortmund, and rumors swirled that he would be signing with a new team\u2014possibly in Spain.<\/p>\n
By the spring of 2022, Erling further fueled\u00a0the rumors\u00a0with the purchase of a\u00a0$7.12 million mansion in Marbella, Spain. The property\u00a0measures 22,507 square feet\u00a0and includes a spacious living room, a sauna, and an extraordinary outdoor area\u2014complete with a large pool, an outdoor shower, and a garden with multiple seating areas. Rather uniquely, approximately 4,000 square feet of the property\u00a0lie underground, which is optimal for the utmost privacy and security for the sports superstar.<\/p>\n
After two seasons playing in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and despite rumors that he would be signing with a Spanish team, Erling transferred to Manchester City F.C., signing a five-year multi-million dollar contract. Naturally, the footballer sought a new place to call home. It was\u00a0reported at the time that Erling had his eye\u00a0on rival Manchester United star\u00a0Paul Pogba\u2019s stunning six-bedroom Cheshire mansion\u2014worth\u00a0an estimated $3.8 million. Highlights of the property included a heated swimming pool, a sauna, a gym, and what was known as the\u00a0P.P. Arena\u2014Pogba\u2019s indoor football pitch that featured LED lighting and an electronic scoreboard.<\/p>\n
However, it seems that Erling ultimately chose city living over the more bucolic Cheshire location, and Pogba\u00a0put the mansion up for rent\u00a0in August 2023 for a reported $8,000 a week. It is unclear where in Manchester Erling currently resides, but the UK tabloid\u00a0Mirror<\/em> reports that his home features a cryotherapy chamber that costs him upwards of $<\/p>\n Most recently, Erling reportedly made a full-circle return to Norway with the purchase of a $3.28 million apartment\u00a0in\u00a0Oslo. According to reports, he is shadowed by security at all times, and his privacy is of the utmost concern. Suffice it to say that not much is known about the footballer\u2019s newest property, except that it features three bedrooms and is situated in the\u00a0same building as the billionaire Petter Stordalen-owned hotel Sommerro.
