Arsenal is back on the straight and narrow thanks to Mikel Arteta. When he was hired as Arsenal’s manager in 2019, his goal was to get the team back into the running for trophies. It’s safe to say that he is ahead of the game because it appears the Gunners will be strong favourites to win the Premier League the following year.<\/p>\n
Interestingly, though, Mikel Arteta has almost made it twice. Although the Spaniard’s enormous growth is undeniable, there are doubts regarding his ability to win the Premier League title and put the icing on the cake.<\/p>\n
Right now, Man City and Arsenal are different in their mindsets. Despite Arteta dominating 90% of the season, Pep Guardiola’s team can turn it on when it means most. Regrettably, this has hurt Arsenal in two of the last seasons.<\/p>\n
Jens Lehmann is one former Arsenal player who has experience with an elite attitude. The German goalkeeper was a vital component of the renowned Arsenal Invincible and was in goal the last time Arsenal won the Premier League championship.<\/p>\n
Lehmann, however, has fanned the flames by raising doubts about Mikel Arteta’s suitability as Arsenal’s manager. Lehmann examined Arsenal’s shortcomings over the past two seasons and explored several football philosophies in an article that was published by The Telegraph.<\/p>\n
Lehmann stated as follows: “Arteta has done a great job raising Arsenal, but if he is the appropriate man for Arsenal now… I’m not certain. So you must substantiate it. We had two chances to win [the league]. They were ahead last year, but they lost it in just one month\u2014April\u2014after three draws and one loss. The game ended in a tie after [Bukayo] Saka missed a penalty kick with West Ham leading 2-0. There were two points.<\/p>\n
Although saying that Mikel Arteta is a bad manager if he hasn’t won the league appears shallow and face-valued, there is some truth to it. After all, without winning championships, growth can only take you so far. If anyone knows this, it’s Mikel.<\/p>\n
