Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, has issued a strong caution to all contractors bidding for government contracts in the region, urging them to ensure they have adequate funding before pursuing any tender. The minister emphasized that the current administration, led by President John Mahama will not tolerate substandard work or incomplete projects due to a lack of financial preparedness.<\/p>\n

Briefing the media, Hon. Owusu Antwi warned contractors to take this message seriously, describing it as a clear directive aimed at improving the quality and timely completion of government projects within the Bono East region. \u201cContractors must go for tenders only when they have sufficient funds to execute the projects,\u201d he stressed. He said this at the Atebubu-Amanten Municipal Assembly during his encounter with the house.<\/p>\n

The regional minister highlighted that the current government\u2019s approach to funding and managing public projects will be significantly different from previous administrations. According to him, there will be stringent measures implemented to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in how government properties and projects are funded and executed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be conducting surprise inspections on ongoing projects to verify the quality of work and the use of funds provided,\u201d Hon. Owusu Antwi announced. He added that these inspections are part of the administration\u2019s broader plan to curb corruption, prevent abandonment of projects, and ensure that public resources are utilized for their intended purposes.<\/p>\n

This directive comes amid rising public concern over numerous government projects across the country that have been left incomplete or poorly executed due to contractors\u2019 inability to manage finances effectively. The president\u2019s administration has vowed to change this trend by enforcing strict adherence to procurement regulations and financial requirements.<\/p>\n

Contractors are urged to put their house in order by securing the necessary funding before bidding and to maintain high standards throughout the execution phase. Failure to comply with these directives could result in disqualification from current and future government projects, as well as possible legal ramifications.<\/p>\n

Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi\u2019s warning is a clear message to all stakeholders in the construction and public works sector to prioritize financial readiness and quality workmanship. The Bono Regional Minister concluded by urging all contractors to cooperate fully with inspectors and government officials to foster a culture of excellence and integrity within the region\u2019s development projects.<\/p>\n
