The Bono East region is set to experience a significant boost in its agriculture sector as the cashew factory is scheduled to commence full operations from June 2026. Honourable Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, assured farmers that this development will enhance the value chain and provide renewed opportunities for cashew producers in the area.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the 41st Farmers’ Day celebration held in Mesedan, Techiman North, the Minister emphasised that the agribusiness sector will focus on processing perishable crops to increase their market value in the coming years. She stressed that the government plans to supply farmers with improved high-yield crop varieties to maximise production and profitability.<\/p>\n
The minister also issued a call to the youth in the region to embrace farming as a viable livelihood option instead of risking dangerous journeys through the desert in search of better pastures. \u201cWe urge the youth to invest their energy in agriculture, which promises sustainable growth and income,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
