Nana Gyamfi Kumanyini has issued a strong warning that the future of today’s youth is under threat from drug and alcohol abuse, which many young people have come to see as “fun.” Speaking at the celebration of the Yam Festival at the Krachi Palace in Techiman, Bono East Region, the traditional ruler described the situation as a “near canker” that must be addressed with all seriousness.<\/p>\n
He expressed concern that some women, who were expected to educate the youth on the dangers of drugs and alcohol, have instead become key players in the very menace. Nana Gyamfi Kumanyini urged stakeholders, especially parents and community leaders, to rise to the occasion and help protect the younger generation from a future that has been “blackmailed” by substance abuse.<\/p>\n
