One shot dead, the taxi driver in critical condition after armed robbers shot him in the shoulder on the Subinso – Nchiraa road in the Wenchi Municipality of Bono region.<\/p>\n
Two others sustained various degrees of injury and currently on admission at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital.<\/p>\n
A 25 year old nurse, Erica Adufa died instantly in the robbery attack.<\/p>\n
The taxi Opel Astra which was en route to Nchiraa from Subinso II with registration number GW 4850 X was shot on several occasions and injured 4 persons on board.<\/p>\n
In an interview with one of the victims, Ofosu Nuamah 50 year old maison said, the incident occurred on Saturday evening between 7 and 8 pm.<\/p>\n
According to him the robbers rushed to the middle of the road and start firing gun shots on them.<\/p>\n
Medical director at Wenchi Methodist Hospital, Dr. Oman confirmed that the victims were brought to the facility at about 8 pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n
One reported dead before arrival at the hospital while two others sustained major injuries, Dr. Oman said.<\/p>\n
He further explained that, one of them who was shot in the head has referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.<\/p>\n
No arrest have been made so far.<\/p>\n
