The ministry for communications and digitization has started training 5,000 basic school girls in the ICT programmes. The Bono East region is the first to successfully trained one thousand school girls. The sector minister hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful says their aim is to bring up the less endowed girl child to compete with their male counterpart.<\/p>\n

Hon Ursula Owusu-Enkuful addressing the children and the other dignitaries at the Teachman VVU conference hall expressed her happiness over the success of the training session. Each participant received a laptop and certificate. 20 teachers from each of the 11 districts in the region received a laptop.<\/p>\n

Ursula Owusu says, from 2012 to date, only 5,000 teenage girls have been trained in the ICT while this year alone has made an allocation to train 5,000.<\/p>\n

Hon Ursula Owusu pleaded with the parents to provide all the needed support to their wards to make the studying of the  ICT a success.<\/p>\n

The cyber-service authority, Mrs. Afua Blown Eyeson strongly cautioned the girls to deny all unknown friends on social media. She says it is more dangerous to send pictures to an unknown person for any reason. She adds sharing naked pictures and videos is a worse experience.<\/p>\n

The chairman of the occasion, Nana Boakye Ameyaw Pantemfrem Nifahene of the Techiman Traditional council who represented the Omanhene of Teichman commended the ministry for communications and digitization and the MTN for this educative programme.<\/p>\n

Nana pleaded with the children to use the ICT with good intentions. He says they should deny scams and pornographic videos.<\/p>\n

The occasion was been attended by a high class of personalities including the Bono east regional minister, heads of education directorates, and the traditional leaders.<\/p>\n
