A Beacon of Affordable Excellence Amid Calls for Fairer Education Policies. In the lush, green hills of Techiman, Valley View University (VVU)’s Techiman campus stands as a testament to quality education that doesn’t come with a hefty price tag chaos. The campus Rector, Michael Amponsah Kodom has passionately urged the government to extend its “Level 100 no-fee stress policy” to private universities like VVU, arguing it’s unfair to exclude Ghanaian students whose parents pay the same taxes. He said this after their 31st matriculation ceremony.

The policy benefits only government universities, yet private ones like ours absorb overflow students the public system can’t handle,” Kodom told Nkyeremu News exclusively. “Without us, the government couldn’t contain the demand. Many private universities are collapsing under financial strain; the government’s intervention can help several students to access higher education. “He added that university campuses benefit the community through businesses and banking. The VVU Hospital benefits not only the nearby community but the entire region and beyond. A university with such a facility can be upgraded to a teaching hospital if the government provides the necessary support.

VVU Techiman, blessed with a serene natural environment perfect for focused study, offers a compelling alternative. Hostel and semester fees total just GH¢4,000, including spacious on-campus accommodations that eliminate transport hassles. The campus offers a BSc in Nursing, Midwifery, Business, Agribusiness, BBA in Human Resources, Accounting, and Education in general, with master’s options and more. The university prides itself on academic rigour fused with moral values, producing graduates who shine in competitive job markets.

This vision of a brighter future unfolds daily in VVU’s modern lecture halls. Level 100 student Ankrah Isaac, eyes alight with determination, shared why he chose VVU over the rest. “I prefer VVU because it’s peaceful here.no daily taxes, struggles or fee nightmares like in some places,” Isaac said, notebook in hand, amid classmates debating agribusiness innovations. The green surroundings clear my mind for lectures, and the affordable fees let my family breathe easy. Programs like BSc Nursing prepare us holistically, with ethics that employers love. Public students support matters; private university students need the same. We are more vulnerable and need the same level 100 no-fee stress support.

As Ghana grapples with education equity, VVU Techiman exemplifies a model where natural beauty, affordability, and excellence converge. Rector Kodom calls on policymakers to amend the policy, save private institutions, and unlock potential for every Ghanaian student.
