Valley View University (VVU), Ghana’s pioneering private tertiary institution, celebrated its 31st matriculation ceremony at the Techiman campus on Tuesday 3rd, drawing traditional chiefs and dignitaries who praised the school’s blend of academic rigour and moral training.

Founded in 1983 as an Adventist missionary college in Accra, VVU became the nation’s first private university in 1989. Today, it operates three vibrant campuses in Accra, Kumasi, and Techiman, serving a student population of over 1,355. Renowned for producing high-calibre professionals in high-demand fields, VVU alumni secure gainful employment in reputable organisations across Ghana and beyond.

Addressing fresh matriculants, Vice Chancellor Professor Daniel Ganu described their admission as a “divine call.” He urged them to embody VVU’s core ethics of excellence, integrity, and service while demonstrating transformative potential.

The event highlighted VVU’s hallmark: integrating academic excellence with unwavering morals, setting it apart from public universities. Unlike many peers, the institution instills law-abiding values, fostering God-fearing leaders. Health programs benefit from attached hospitals, providing students, especially in BSc Midwifery and BSc Nursing, with hands-on practical experience.

VVU offers a comprehensive range of programs, from undergraduate degrees to PhDs. Key offerings include BSc Midwifery, BSc Nursing, PhD in Business Administration (Finance), BSc Agriculture, PhD in Administration and Management, and MBA in Human Resource Management. Campuses run flexible sessions, including regular, sandwich, and more, catering to diverse learners. Notably, hostel and user fees remain affordably low compared to other private universities, making quality education accessible.

The chairman of the occasion, Nana Boakye Pementemprem II, commended university authorities for prioritising training that produces God-fearing, law-abiding graduates. Traditional chiefs arrived in large numbers, gracing the ceremony and underscoring community support for VVU’s mission.

As Ghana’s premier private university, VVU continues to shape futures with holistic education. For aspiring students eyeing top job opportunities, its campuses offer an unbeatable combination of affordability, morality, and excellence.
