Akina morning host journalist, Emmanuel Quashie popularly called Hitman has pleaded not guilty to charges leveled against him for his reports on the alleged serial killings in Techiman municipality.

Emmanuel Quashie was accompanied by 16 journalists in his defense of the charges, which indicate causing fear and panic in the Techiman municipality.

On the first day of the hearing, the complaint and his lawyer failed to appear at the Tuobodom magistrate court.

The state prosecutor, inspector, George Appiah said, three chiefs of the Techiman traditional area officially filed a complaint against the Hitman for the falsehood report on serial killings on the Akina morning show program. Based on that, the police were compelled to invite the Hitman for interrogation and prosecution. The police charged him for causing fear and panic.

The presiding judge, his Lordship, Kojo Frimpong Manso at the Tuobodom magistrate court has granted the Hitman a bail of 5,000 cedis with one surety and to reappear at the Tuobodom court on the 27th of July 2022.
