In a solemn and spirit-filled ordination service held at the Christian Church Mission, Apostle John Ativor delivered a powerful charge to two newly ordained ministers, urging them to remain faithful to the gospel and take the message of Christ beyond the walls of the church.
Reverend Richard Awuah and Reverend Joseph Amponsah, both graduates of Bible Ministry International College, were officially ordained in the presence of their families, wives, fellow ministers, and members of the congregation. The atmosphere was one of worship, reverence, and divine impartation as the church gathered to witness this sacred moment.
Delivering his sermon titled “A Charge to the Called,” Apostle Ativor emphasised that the work of ministry extends far beyond church buildings. He cited Mark 16:15 — “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” — as a foundational mandate for all ministers of God.
“You are not called to preach to your friends and familiar faces alone,” Apostle Ativor declared. “You are chosen to speak truth to a broken world, to be light in darkness, and to remain steadfast in a time when the gospel is being diluted.”
He warned of the rising wave of false doctrines and spiritual manipulation, urging the newly ordained reverends to hold firmly to Scripture and reject the temptation to seek popularity over purity.
During the laying on of hands and impartation session, Apostle Ativor prayed for divine strength, wisdom, and spiritual discernment for the two ministers. He reminded them that ordination was not a title but a responsibility to serve with humility and truth.
“This office is not for fame,” he said. “It is for sacrifice. You are not entertainers; you are shepherds of souls. Let your preaching be seasoned with grace and rooted in the Word.”
The presence of the ministers’ wives and family members added depth to the occasion. Tears of joy and heartfelt prayers filled the sanctuary as loved ones stood by in support. Fellow ministers from various churches also attended the ceremony, laying hands and offering words of encouragement.
Rev. Awuah and Rev. Amponsah, visibly moved by the moment, expressed their gratitude and unwavering commitment to their calling. “We accept this call with fear of God and a deep sense of purpose,” said Rev. Amponsah. “We are ready to serve, not only within the church, but in every place the Lord sends us.”
As the ordination service concluded with worship and thanksgiving, Apostle Ativor left the church with a resounding message: “Let the world know that there are still men who preach truth. Go and make disciples.”
