The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, has assured the people of the region that the government’s Big Push program will deliver a massive road network. This infrastructure development is expected to enhance the timely transportation of food and other essential services across the region. The minister emphasised that the improved road network will not only facilitate efficient movement but also help curb the growing menace of road robbery, thereby enhancing security for commuters and transporters. The minister made this statement during his first regional.

In a call to action, Hon. Antwi urged the citizens to support the Resetting Ghana agenda, which aims to accelerate development and improve livelihoods. He highlighted how the new roads will greatly benefit farming communities by easing access to markets, reducing post-harvest losses, and improving overall productivity. The minister also appealed to the traditional leaders and chiefs in the region to find lasting solutions to conflicts between Fulani herdsmen and farmers, which have been a source of concern and disruption to agriculture.

The Omanhene of Abease, Obeng Kru Takyi II, lauded President John Dramani Mahama for the noticeable positive changes within his months in office. The Omanhene commended the president for turning things around swiftly, particularly with initiatives targeting rural development and security. He praised the government’s commitment to infrastructure and community welfare, noting that these measures are vital for the socio-economic growth of the Bono East region.

The minister further pledged urgent action on key roads such as the Atebubu-Kwame Danso-Kajaji road, which is crucial for connecting various parts of the region. These efforts are part of a broader government promise to complete infrastructure projects that directly impact the daily lives and economic activities of the people. The Bono East Minister reassured residents that the initiative would foster economic growth by improving road infrastructure, enhancing safety, and creating employment opportunities.

Overall, the Big Push program under the leadership of Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi is poised to transform Bono East by addressing critical challenges facing the region, especially in agriculture, security, and social development. The partnership between the government, traditional authorities, and the people is central to ensuring sustainable development and peace in the area. With renewed focus and collective effort, the Bono East region looks forward to brighter prospects and improved living standards for all its citizens.

The minister was accompanied by the departmental heads of the region during his five-day tour. Hon. Francis Antwi and his entourage will end the tour in Techiman North and South after the Akwatia bye-election!
