The medical director of the Techiman Holy Family Hospital, Dr. Ernest Ameyaw has pleaded with the churches, Schools, Keep fit clubs, and individuals to donate enough blood to save lives at the hospitals.

Dr. Ernest Ameyaw said the Holy family hospital of Techiman in the Bono East region could at times transfuse all their stored blood on emergency accident cases to save lives.

Dr. Ameyaw said any major hospital without enough blood at its blood bank is not saved.

The hospital in collaboration with the Buoyem St Francis Seminary Senior High school in February, 14th donated 67 pints of blood to the Techiman holy family hospital as their Valentine’s Day offer to the sick.

The Rector of the school, father Martin Oduro Bilson disagreed with people who share condoms on the Valentine’s Day celebration. He says the day is not for fornication, adultery, and immoral conduct.

Father Martin says the St. Valentine’s Day is a day to show love by giving. The school administration has assigned every February, 14th to donate blood to the Techiman holy family hospital.

Being a good leader, father Martin was the first person to donate blood for the occasion. He says one can donate blood after every four months.

Medical reports indicate, the more one donates blood the fresher his blood becomes and also stabilizes his blood pressure.
