The Bono East region has instituted a joined team to climb down the road crashes in the region. The three bodies include; the Ghana Road safety authority, DVLA and MTTD police.
The three main arms in charge of road safety in the Bono East region have assured to combine their operations to meet the best result.
This was been disclosed to the Nkyeremu News after their national road safety authority meeting in Techiman.
The various driver’s unions like the GPRTU, Cargo drivers, and Protoa were in attendance to share their views.
The representative of the Techiman traditional council, Nana Konadu Yiadom the chief of Ayensu at the occasion pleaded with the government to give much attention to the road crashes which claim more lives than any other diseases in the country.
The Road Safety Authority, DVLA, MTTD police, and the Bono East regional coordinating council are going to team up in their operations. George Padmore Mensah, the Bono East RCC Director has assured to give financing support for their operations.
The challenges of traffic lights, zebra crossings, and speed rams were discussed for their immediate solutions.
The regional road safety director of the Bono East region, Perry Emmanuel was optimistic that, their team formed will help to reduce road accidents in the region.
He added that the Techinman- Tamale road been notified as the accident zone will soon be a story of the past.
