Hon. David Kwasi Asare Boakye popularly called Adwumawura, the DCE for Offinso North in the Ashanti region has identified climate change and bush fires as the major challenges to the farmers.
He has therefore cautioned farmers, hunters, palm wine tappers, Fulani herdsmen, and other people who engage in activities that trigger bush fires to halt with immediate effect.
Hon. Asare Boakye made this observation during the 37th Farmers’ Day Celebration in the Offinso North District held at Nkenkaasu where a total of 10 deserving farmers comprising of 8 men and 2 women from various categories were awarded certificates and farming implements.
Hon Asare Boakye gave a strong warning that any individual or group of persons who will flout the anti bush fire regulation will face the law and prosecution.
The hon. has pleaded with the people to make farming one of the key occupations to success. He says his office is open to farmers who deserved help.
46 year old, David Kwadwo Wiafe from Nkenkaasu was been emerged as the 37th District best Offinso North Farmer.
He took home a motor King and other farming implements. He was grateful for the honour done him and encouraged the youth to venture into agriculture.
