In Techiman, Hansuahene Singly Provides Infrastructure To Commence Abrafi SHS

 

The Banmuhene Nana Apenteng Fosu Gyeabour ii, the chief of Hansua in the Techiman Traditional Area, has singly provided infrastructure for the commencement of Abrafi senior high school in 2019. The dream of the queen’s mother, Nana Abrafi Kotoo to establish the school, came to a halt in 2001 due to financial constraints.

Marking the first inauguration ceremony of the school, the Omanhene of the Techiman Traditional Area, Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw iv, the traditional chiefs, the Bono East RCC, and the education directorate commended Nana Fosu Apenteng Fosugyeabour ii for his immense contribution to the Abrafi SHS.

Nana Apenteng Fosu Gyeabour completed the six-unit classroom block which was at the foundation level, the administration block, 12-seater washrooms, and a hundred-capacity hostel well furnished with beds. In addition, Nana has provided the school with computers.

The biggest success story was when Nana Fosu Gyeabour ii, started to feed the school and paid for some staff members when the school was not yet absorbed by the government.

Nana Apenteng Fosu also had luck for his own son, Martin Oti Garko to be the MP for Techiman North who also helped in several ways including the absorption of the school by the government before this term in office ended.

In spite of all these successes, the baby school still needs more support. The headmaster of the school, Samuel Antwi, pleaded for a school wall, boarding status, accommodation for the headmaster and his assistant, duty vehicle, ICT and science lab among others. The school which started with only 31 students in October 2019 has now 233 and 50 staff.

The Bono east RCC regional director, George Padmore, education regional director, Efua A.D Amuah, and the former MP of the area, Hon. Martin Oti Gyarko all commended Nana Apenteng Fosu Gyeabour for his landmark contributions

The monument of Nana Abrafi Kotoo ii, in the school, was also sponsored by the Hansuahene, Nana Apenteng  Fosu Gyeabour ii, and unveiled by the Omanhene, Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw iv.

In the closing remarks, the Omanhene of the Techiman traditional council, Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw described Nana Fosu as an unprecedented chief in the development and has left a legacy that can’t be erased. Oseadeyo challenged others to emulate the effort of Nana Fosu Gyeabour ii. He said, Hansuahene has provided a health centre at the Techiman SHS and also Aworowa police station and several other donations which are not recorded.

The Abrafi SHS authority honored Nana Apenteng Fosu Gyeabour ii with a citation plaque, which was presented by the Omanhene, Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw iv.
