Ghanaian cocoa farmers have pleaded for an immediate cocoa price increase due to the economic crisis in the country. According to the farmers, all the chemicals used for the treatment of cocoa have been increased by over 200%.
They said buying 64 kilos of cocoa at 660 Ghana cedis is too meager and insulting. The farmers are demanding not anything less than 1,000 for the 64 kilos of the cocoa bag for this season.
