Poverty compels many Africans seeking greener pastors to die on the sea. In 2017, more than 3,000 migrants died on the sea when traveling to seek greener pastors. About 3 percent of the victims were women aged 20-28. Statistics of the death toll will rise from time to time.
It is a dangerous and life-threatening decision to embark on. Despite several reports, the youth who see life home as worse make it a do-or-die affair.
In Ghana, the most affected victims are Nkoranza youth followed by the Jaman south Berekum, Techiman, and kintampo among others.
