It is sad that the NPP and the NDC MPs all the time think of their personal interest than the national interest. We were here when the NPP MPs rose against the finance minister Ken Ofori Ata to resign. NDC thought that their deal to remove the finance minister was a done deal. NPP finally changed its decision. Instead of the NDC voting against Ken Ofori Atta, they walk out of the parliament.
Again, NDC, which had vowed to deny the president-named ministers, had finally joined the majority to confirm all 6 ministers. The results are 154 yes and 116 no votes, 1 rejected and 1 abstention. The clear indication is that 38 NDC MPs voted 38 yes to confirm the president’s 6 nominees.
NDC on the day had 136 MPs against 135 NPP MPs, the minority could have won the day by numerical strength. Ghanaian MPs are there for their financial breakthrough and not the nation’s interest.
