Black Rasta has waded into the controversy around attempts by some Ghanaian artists to demand copyright compensation from the American rapper Drake. Black Rasta said maybe Obrafour wants to trend.

He said Obrafour’s $10m lawsuit in the southern district of New York, in which he is demanding the said amount from Drake over copyright infringement in his 2022 song calling my name father of his Honestly Nevermind album.

However, the same song had already been featured in the Chalewote Street Art Festival, Mantse Aryeequaye has claimed ownership of the soundbite which Obrafour used without his knowledge.

He said the high life as a genre was birthed through the sampling of American songs. He said about 90 % of songs released are copied from the existing ones. He has cautioned Ghanaian music artists to keep mute in order not to call for unending war.
