Al Hilal intend to announce the signing of Lionel Messi on Tuesday, June 6th, according to Argentine journalist Albert Masnou.
The Saudi Arabia club has tabled an overwhelming offer of around €1.2B for 2 years to tempt the Argentina legend to join them, per sources. However, Messi is yet to say yes to the offer as he continues to think.
If Messi says yes, Al Hilal will immediately confirm they have signed the greatest player of all time. Everything is ready on their side for the big announcement.
Meanwhile, Barcelona continues to hope that Messi turns down the huge monetary offer from Saudi Arabia and joins them next month.
ESPN pundit and former Chelsea player Craig Burley said “Barcelona has to move on from Leo Messi” as there’s no way he would miss out on such a huge payday.
There’s also a question of how much Messi can give the team ‘without the ball’ considering his age. The legendary forward will turn 36 later this month and would be playing alongside Robert Lewandowski, who will also turn 35 in August.
