Erling Haaland has earned a new nickname following his arrival at Manchester City. It has nothing to do with the two hat-tricks he has already scored this season, but with the new TV series called ‘House of the Dragon’.
Highlighting his striking resemblance to central character Daemon Targaryen, Haaland‘s Manchester City teammates are now calling the Norway international ‘Daemon’.
“A few of the players are huge fans of House of Dragon, and they have mentioned to Erling how much he looks like Daemon,” a club insider told The Sun.
“He loves a joke and thinks it’s funny. Daemon is unpredictable and so is Erling so their personalities fit as well.”
Haaland has hit the ground running following his move from Borussia Dortmund. He has already netted nine times in just five Premier League games, including two hat-tricks in less than a week.
“When City bought Erling, everybody talked about what he has done in the past,” said his coach Pep Guardiola after the Sky Blues’ 6-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
