Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a warning to the party’s elections committee in order to ensure that the next November 4 Presidential primary is conducted fairly and publicly.

During his speech in the Kumasi Showdown walk on September 30, 2023, the outspoken politician stated that if he thought the polls had been rigged in favour of another candidate, he would not hesitate to challenge the party.

Let them try; I’m not soft like Alan. In the midst of his fans’ raucous applause, Ken warned.

The person to whom Mr. Agyapong was alluding was Alan Kyerematen, a former commerce and industry minister who recently left the NPP citing intimidation and unjust treatment against him and his supporters in the NPP’s flagbearership campaign.

Mr. Kyerematen has now created what he calls Movement For Change in order to run as an independent in the upcoming 2024 Presidential elections.

Mr. Agyapong stated during the election that he would adhere to the “an eye for an eye” policy and would not tolerate bullying.

In addition, he claimed that he had been given large financial inducements to step down in favour of Vice President, Dr.Bawumia.
