Dr. Smith-Mensah, an optometrist at the St. Ignatius Eye Center in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region of Ghana, has advised Ghanaians regarding presbyopia, a prevalent eye condition.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Smith noted that presbyopia can strike people before 35 years and above. According to him, presbyopia affects every person in old age and is characterized by difficulty reading at close range from a book, phone, computer, or any other readable material that is slightly far from the eye.
Dr. Smith urged people to see an eye specialist doctor on time before they are infected by presbyopia. He consequently cautioned that nobody can avoid presbyopia at the ages of 35-40. He urged people to take care of their eyes because eyes are unreplaceable.
