9th October 2024

For the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the 2024 presidential election, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the Member of Parliament for Tema West Constituency, has urged the party to do everything within its power to pull Alan Kyerematen back to the fold.

He claims that the Movement for Change’s leader, Alan, will undoubtedly lose support from the party in 2024, particularly in its stronghold of the Ashanti Region, if he runs as an independent candidate in the polls, as he has declared since leaving the NPP.

For this reason, he pleaded with the NPP’s leadership to get down on their knees and ask Alan to return if necessary.

“At this point, allowing him to carry on with his actions would have a significant negative impact on the NPP’s fortunes. Nobody can convince me that, even if the 2024 election is held today, Mr. Alan Kyerematen has the national presence necessary to garner a sizable number of votes.

“Alan is not your typical politician,” the man says. He entered politics at the start of the Fourth Republic and has remained involved ever since. He was the front-runner for the role of flag bearer at one point. “If my memory serves me correctly, he has visited every constituency in Ghana over six or seven times,” he stated in Twi on Monday, February 5, 2024, during a panel discussion on UTV.

“At this point, allowing him to carry on with his actions would have a significant negative impact on the NPP’s fortunes. Nobody can convince me that, even if the 2024 election is held today, Mr. Alan Kyerematen has the national presence necessary to garner a sizable number of votes. Don’t forget that, no amount of vote is counted little”
