The Anyima community in Kintampo South in the Bono East region has honoured the queenmother, Nana Saah Gyamfuaah II and two others for their outstanding contributions in development. The awards were handed over in a special ceremony by the Chief of Anyima, Obrempong Ameyaw Bremponsem II, at their annual Yam Festival celebration.

In recognition of her pivotal role in transforming the community, Nana Saah Gyamfuaah II, also a Council of State Member has been credited with numerous developmental projects. These include the construction of a modern labour ward and teacher quarters, as well as playing a key role in the development of the Anyima Eblock and the tarred road linking Anyima to the major Kintampo road.

During the ceremony, the proud plaque citation was presented to the queenmother by Chief Obrempong Ameyaw Bremponsem II, who praised the three for their dedication and urged others in the community to emulate their efforts for sustainable progress.

In her acceptance speech, Nana Saah Gyamfuaah II dedicated the award to the First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, whose support was instrumental in the realisation of these projects. She further expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for Kintampo South, Felicia Adjei, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Ing Noble Appiah, for their massive support.

The Chief of Anyima highlighted how the collaborative efforts of traditional authorities, government officials, and private stakeholders have been crucial to the community’s development milestones. He called on other community members and leaders to follow the examples set by the awardees in fostering progress and improving the lives of residents.

This event underscores the growing commitment across Bono East to enhance infrastructure, healthcare, and education facilities, with the Anyima community leading by example in development initiatives.
