The General Secretary of Jaman South cashew buyers and sellers association, Nana Asomah Yeboah has disclosed that anybody found with wrongly or adjusted scale in buying cashew will face prosecution.
He disclosed this at their first general meeting held in Japekrom of the Bono region.
He said the use of adjusted scales has several implications. He said they cheat the farmers, buy bad cashew seeds and also encourage stealing.
At the meeting were customs and immigration officers. They assured that they would not allow people to transport cashew from other countries into Ghana.
The Ghanaian buyers and exporters have also assured to buy quality cashew to attract more foreign investors.
