A 52-year-old Yaw Amponsa who has suffered from eye blindness for over a year has regained full sight after a successful eye operation performed by an ophthalmologist, Dr Osei Agyeman the in charge of the Techiman Holy Family hospital eye clinic in the Bono East region.

In the three days session of free eye treatment, 653 persons living with eye diseases were screened for free eye treatment.

122 of them were been diagnosed for eye operations. In three days, 72 have been successfully operated and discharged for free.
Others will be attended to in working days.

Averagely, one eye operation is charged between 1,500-3,000 Ghana cedis.

Dr Osei Agyeman and his medical eye team have operated on 6 blind persons who have now regained their eyesight.

Several partial blinds also regained their full sight through the replacement of an artificial eye lens by Dr Osei Agyeman.

Dr Osei Agyeman said many Ghanaians lost their sight due to poverty. He said the delay of any eye infections could lead to eye blindness.

Dr Osei Agyeman has called for financial support to attend to the venerable persons suffering from eye diseases.
