Over, eleven thousand Ghana cedis burnt into ashes when a fire engulfed a house at Anoma a community near Wenchi municipality of the Bono region.
The money which was kept under a mattress together with clothing and food items were all burnt.
The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency in the Bono Region, Alhaji Seidu Haruna has advised Ghanaians not to keep money under their mattresses in their bedroom.
He urged management of the financial institutions to make savings and withdrawals more attractive to people to invest in the banks.
The MP presented clothing and undisclosed amount of money to the victims.
