The regional fire commander of the Bono East region, Assistant Chief Fire Officer, George Anime Frimonng and his men have switched much attention on door to door education to halt domestic fire outbreaks in the Bono East region.
ACFO, George Anim speaking to the Nkyeremu News team at the Techiman central market said, the people understand them better and also share with them on the one on one encounter.
The regional fire commander says he has deployed a team that visits the Techiman market regularly to ensure nobody cooks at the market. He has also made it compulsory for any storeroom to fix a fire extinguisher as their first aid equipment.
He said their education has yielded a positive results and it no strange that the Techiman central market had not recorded any fire incidents in the past two years.
ACFO George Anim Frimonng says, their door to door education has reached all the fuel filling station and some stores in Techiman. He says they have compiled all stores owners to fix fire extinguisher in their storerooms.
The fire commander said their large scale means of education is the use of the FM stations to educate the masses on the danger of fire outbreaks and how best to prevent them.
George Anim Frimonng and his men demonstrated that, though there are some few challenges but they are ready to face any fire disasters in the region.
