Pope Benedict XVI’s funeral celebration and burial were made so simple to emulate. When will West Africa stop the necessary waste of big funeral celebrations while the same family has totally deprived people who hardly make ends meet?

It is sad that Africans secure loans, for expensive tombs, and black, red, and white clothes to honour the dead, yet people cherish this culture. At the Vatican, only a few people were present to mark this sad departure of the Pope, who died a 95.

The coffin of Pope Benedict and the decoration for his last resting place where the mass and prayer were said looked too simple to emulate by all.
