The Bono East regional minister, Hon. Kwasi Adu Gyan has given an assurance to meet the needed logistics to provide quality education in the Bono east region. The minister acknowledged Kintampo Senior High School, which emerged overall best in the just-ended independence national quiz. The minister said this when observing the 66th 6th March Day.
The minister said the achievement of the Kintampo SHS has paved the way for other schools to emulate. Hon Kwasi Adu Gyan says, he will sit on the round table with the Bono East education directorate to find a lasting solution for the less endowed schools in the region.
He believed a solid foundation will yield the best result in the near future. In 2021 and 2022 best four BECE students in the Nkoranza municipality were awarded citation plaques with other incentives by the minister, Adu Gyan.
In the 66th Independence Day celebration, 29 schools were represented. They include 13 primary schools, 11 JHS, 4 SHS, and one special school including the security forces.
The overall best school at the basic level went to Methodist primary. They took home, a set of jerseys and a football. In the JHS category, Roman Catholic St Theresa school was first and also received a set of jerseys and a football. The 2nd and 3rd places schools took home a football each.
