In the Bono East region, Nana Owusu Gyare, the acting president of the Techiman Traditional Area, has pleaded with the traditional chiefs to uphold Ghanaian culture by holding festivals and funeral festivities. This was uttered by Nana Owusu Gyare to commemorate the Techiman Akwamu People Yam feast.
Nana was surprised because today’s youth struggle to communicate effectively in their native tongue. He continued by saying that the Europeans’ great culture is to blame for the lack of discipline among young people. It is regrettable, according to Nana, that Ghanaians have finally embraced Western culture. He claimed that the fact that many Ghanaian women have become slay queens is not strange.
In his final interview with Nkyeremu News, Nana Owus Gyare stated that it was time to explore the rich Ghanaian culture on all continents.
Despite being small, the yam festival was more colorful than anticipated. As required by tradition, yam, fowl, lambs, and refreshments were given to the traditional leaders.
