The people of Techiman Akwamu in the Bono East region have marked their yearly yam festival. The acting president of the techiman traditional area, Nana Owusu Gyare who spoke off camera urged traditional leaders to enforce the culture of Ghana through festivals and funeral celebrations.
Nana Owusu Gyare pleaded with parents to give more attention to their wards’ education than spending most of their money on funerals. Nana attributed several school dropouts to irresponsible parents.
