Awulae Agyefi Kwame, the oldest paramount chief in the western region and paramount chief of Nsein traditional area, claims that the four additional years that President Akufo Addo has been in office have been disastrous for the development of the people in the western region because the government does not value the people in the area.

He claims that while having abundant resources, the region that serves as the country’s food basket is actually not developing as much as it could be.

He emphasized his point by saying that the Agona Nkwata to Elubo and Tarkwa highway, an international road, is currently a death trap to the extent that travellers had to spend three days on the road and one person died in the process before the situation was only partially managed. He also mentioned the poor roads in Kojokrom and the stalled infrastructure projects, but he claimed that the government is acting as if nothing has changed in spite of all the pledges President Akufo AddDuring a press conference on the state of the western area at his village farm in Nsein, Awulae Agyefi Kwame, who was among those who endured suffering for three days on the road, made these statements.

Awulae Agyefi once more pleaded with traditional leaders in the western region to wake up and informed the government that, since the region’s voice is ignored by the NPP, he cannot take the riches and the region that produced the first president for granted.

In the end, he revealed that Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, the Western Regional Minister, had been reading the same speech for the last five years, making promise after promise. He emphasized that the people and chiefs were fed up with this and demanded action because the government had failed them.
