President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Addo is said to be lacking in ideas for addressing the economic difficulties, according to former president John Dramani Mahama.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer declared that the president is thinking about how the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, can win the general elections in 2024, rather than coming up with solutions to the problems facing the country.

Tuesday, November 7, in Accra, during a meeting with Trades Union Congress (TUC) members, Mr. Mahama stated, “He has run out of ideas on how to solve the economic challenges we find ourselves in.” According to his most recent statement, he will devote his attention and last strength to appointing his chosen successor to the presidency.

He also charged that excessive borrowing by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Ata was the cause of Ghana’s current issues.

In his opinion, the Finance Minister’s “reckless” borrowing may have prevented the economic disaster.

“The signs of these crises were there for everyone to see so that we could have avoided this unpleasant [economic] situation,” he stated. compromised Finance Minister, whose goal as far as 2019 was clear—to borrow recklessly and engulf our country in debt.”

Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah, the Secretary General of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC), for his part, praised Mr. Mahama’s “game changer” strategy for giving the hordes of young people without jobs jobs.

Mr Mahama had proposed a 24-hour economy, which would see workers engaged in a three-shift system.

“We are also very interested and eager to know more about his great idea of a 24-hour economy,” Dr Yaw Baah intimated ahead of the former president’s address.

“I think this one, Comrade, you have to take your time because I can imagine the number of jobs this kind of thing will create.

“That could be the game-changer. I am telling you. That you have the opportunity in this country to work 24 hours, 3 shifts.

“So, if you don’t get a job in the morning, you can get it in the afternoon or in the night,” he noted.

Dr Yaw Baah charged the youth to get ready for jobs with this policy by the NDC ahead of the 2024 elections.

“I think and I mean it, that this is a great idea that was lying somewhere and never discovered and we will be eager to hear a lot more about it.”

He also presented TUC’s manifesto to the former president.
